Helene Kwong is a writer of novels, short stories, and blogs. Born and raised in Virginia, she first received inspiration for her writing during childhood, where she would write collaborative stories with her classmates. Helene took a long hiatus from creative writing during high school and college due to writing papers for classes. Her passion for writing was reawakened after moving to San Francisco in 2007. Helene has participated in National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo for two years, winning both years. She has written three novels so far and is working on editing her works at the moment. She participates in writing restaurant/food reviews on Yelp! and writing about local public transit on Muni Diaries. When Helene isn't writing, some of her hobbies include reading, traveling, cooking, fitness, and photography. Her current favorite books are Sara Gruen's Water for Elephants, Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist, and Jennifer 8. Lee's The Fortune Cookie Chronicles. Helene has traveled throughout the US, Japan, and China. She is semi-fluent in Japanese. |
